BUBBLEOLOGY BRINGING BUBBLE TEA CRAZE TO VILLAGE AT LEESBURG

The bubble tea shop will move in next to Fractured Prune Doughnuts.

A new bubble tea shop is coming soon to the Village at Leesburg. It’s called Bubbleology and features milk, fruit and coffee based drinks as well as slushies and other unique beverages.

Here’s how the Village at Leesburg’s marketing folks describe bubble tea drinks to the uninitiated: “Served warm or cool, bubble tea drinks have a red, white or green tea base which are infused with fruit flavorings, with the unique and hugely addictive addition of tapioca pearls at the bottom. These tapioca pearls – or “boba” as (they’re) affectionately termed – have an almost “gummy bear” texture, being zero fat with a delicious caramel undertone and become infused with the flavor of the tea itself.”

While a number of local shops already had bubble teas on their menus, Loudoun saw the arrival of the first chain brand when Kung Fu Tea opened two locations last year — both in Sterling, including one at the Dulles Town Center mall.

Bubbleology is a small franchise brand with two locations currently in Florida and two in Georgia. While there is no opening date yet, it appears the Leesburg location will be the first in Virginia. The Bubbleology at the Village at Leesburg will be moving into the spot between Fractured Prune Doughnuts and the Rocket Fizz candy shop, making that stretch of stores a perfect stop for anyone with a sweet tooth.
