Senor Tequila’s in Cascades closes permanently

The restaurant is just the latest in a string of vacancies at the Cascades Marketplace shopping center.

The Senor Tequila’s Mexican restaurant in Sterling has closed for good — just the latest in a string of retail vacancies at the Cascades Marketplace shopping center.

We’re told the restaurant — which opened in the center in 2016 — closed in the last few days. A sign on the door lets customers know the unfortunate news.

“Senor Tequila’s Cascades team want(s) to recognize to all our patrons,” it reads in part. “We appreciate every single time that you stepped in and enjoyed our food.”

It ends with bold red letters that say “Permanently closed.”

In the past year, Cascades Marketplace has lost the Corner Bakery Cafe and the Boston Market restaurants that sat across the street from Senor Tequilas. The Pier One home decor store also recently closed in the center. Well before that — the Famous Dave’s barbecue restaurant and the Baja Fresh fast-casual Mexican restaurant closed and those spaces have been vacant for years.

The main anchors in the center — Home Depot and a Giant Grocery store — remain.

Meanwhile, the Senor Tequilas in Ashburn at the Loudoun Station center off Shellhorn Road is still open, as are locations in Fairfax and Germantown, Maryland.

The development company that owns this neighborhood project is a piece of shit. They are only in this for the tax right off that let’s our tax dollars supplement their lack of rent payments. why else would this development be less than 25% full….they don’t care about the neighborhood, they just care about money. enough. sell the whole thing if you won’t invest in viable businesses. I live across the street and i’m sick of seeing empty store fronts. who’s next? hallmark? bray and scarf? Giant or Home Depot? they “landlord” here sucks and is a drain on the community. gots to go

I was never at the location in Cascades, but the one at Loudoun Station was never as good as it should have been.

People still go to this shopping center? I’m surprised LoCo BOS haven’t already approved to rezone shopping center for more housing.

I’m not surprised Senor TaRipoff is closed, the food and service awful, AWFUL!

Great place to use the bathroom, though. I’d dash in, go to the bar, wait…. Then I’d dash to the bathroom and used the very clean facilities, then dash back to the bar and wait…. Thinking I’d get a wine or maybe a couple of their turgid tastless tacos….you know, try to be a customer because I used the bathroom…

    Then I’d leave.
