New Indian street food restaurant coming to Ashburn

Tava Fry will be coming to the Ashburn Crossroads restaurant center.

A new fast-casual Indian restaurant is coming to Ashburn and it’s bringing a unique type of cuisine with it. Tava Fry will be moving into a vacant space in the Ashburn Crossroads restaurant center.

Tava Fry is a new concept being created by a family from Ashburn. They say the restaurant will feature street food from the various neighborhoods of Mumbai (Bombay) in India. Some of the dishes may include pani puri, sev puri and dahi puri as well as bun kebabs. Tava Fry will have both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options.

The new restaurant will be fast-casual in style, meaning customers will order at a counter and then take a seat while their food is prepared. Tava Fry is taking over the space that used to be Burgerim, a restaurant that specialized in slider-sized burgers among other things. (There are still local Burgerims open in Brambleton and South Riding.)

Ashburn Crossroads is the restaurant center at the intersection of Ashburn Village Boulevard and Farmwell Road. Other restaurants there include Fuddruckers, IHOP, Bungalow Alehouse, Starbucks, Potbelly’s and The Halal Guys. No word yet on when Tava Fry will open.

Looking forward to trying this. Hopefully it does a little better than Burgerim who seemed to only last 6 months…
