First look at possible menu at Reston’s Corsica Wine Bar

Last month, The Burn reported exclusively about a new restaurant and wine bar in the works for the Reston Town Center. Now, we have a peek at what its future menu could look like.

Regular readers may recall our story on the Corsica Wine Bar. It’s reportedly going to take over the spot vacated by the French-style restaurant Mon Ami Gabi.

No one at the RTC or with the Corsica brand would confirm anything on the record, but we learned that Corsica Wine Bar is a new concept coming from the same folks who operate the popular Barcelona Wine Bar brand.

Of course, the Reston Town Center has a Barcelona location that is packed on most evenings.

The first Corsica Wine Bar location has just opened in Denver, Colo. And that’s where we got our first look at the Corsica menu — a menu that could eventually make its way to the planned Reston Town Center location.

Much like the menu at Barcelona, the Corsica menu concentrates on small plates meant to be shared with your date or dining companions. It features “apéros” — or appetizers, plus small plates.

Some of the dishes that jump out at us include the Whipped Ricotta Toast with barberries, espelette, and honey; the Gemelli ‘Cacio e Pepe’ with parmigiano, pecorino romano, and hazelnuts; and Veau aux Olives, a traditional Corsican veal stew with shiitake mushrooms.

You can check out the food and cocktail portions of the Denver Corsica Wine Bar menu below.

Of course, new restaurant menus often change — both with time and location. So, it’s almost certain that any future Corsica Wine Bar menu in Reston would vary from the one above. But it gives us a good idea of the types of dishes we might one day enjoy locally.
