There will soon be a new barbecue destination in Sterling when The Pit Stop opens in the Cascades Marketplace shopping center. The restaurant will be going into the small stand-alone building where BGR The Burger Joint used to be.
This will be the first brick-and-mortar location for The Pit Stop, but they are already well-known for doing BBQ in Loudoun County. They’ve had a weekend outdoor pop-up site at Gilbert’s Corner in Aldie for ten years that gets rave reviews from customers.
The Pit Stop menu is simple and straightforward — classic full or half rack of barbecue ribs, barbecue chicken, cole slaw, potato salad, baked beans, etc. With the new location, the owners say they will be adding some daily specials and additional items to the menu.
The Pit Stop hopes to have their new place in Cascades Marketplace open for business by early January.
The pit stops food is the best bar-b-que I’ve ever had. They have never disappointed! Looking forward to the new location!
I guess this is good news for those nearby Cascades Marketplace (which seems to have been losing eateries – BGR, Baja Fresh) but they’re a mere hop, skip and a jump from the new Mission BBQ.
I know restaurant fads come and go, and we’ve seen BBQ places pop up all over the place recently (Mission, Dickey’s) competing with the established places (Urban BBQ, Carolina Bros.). If they’re good, they’ll survive, but the field is getting crowded…
Local BBQ is usually much better than chain BBQ joints. I look forward to trying the Pit Stop.
Does this mean they will no longer be at Gilbert’s Corner? That would be a shame, they’ll be too far away now!
Best ribs I have ever had!! Will they be closing the Gilbert corner stand?
I believe they are going to have both locations.
I believe they are going to have both locations.
No it will remain open.
Right next to Gold’s Gym Sterling so I’ll give it try. BGR was nice but not worth what they priced their product at. We’ll see if the Pit Stop is worth the price.
There is always room for a BBQ joint. No BBQ is bad. I’ll definitely go to Pit Stop, but I will continue to support Mission. The money they raise for military causes and first responders must never be ignored.
Well… consider yourself added to my blogroll. I have like six other blogs I read on a weekly basis, guess that number just increased to seven! Keep writing!
