NEW LEESBURG WALMART REPORTEDLY OPENING MAY 22

The new store is the main anchor at the Compass Creek development.

Lots of people have been wondering when the new Walmart location in Leesburg’s Compass Creek development is going to open. It was originally targeted for this spring, but got pushed back. Now, we apparently have an answer.

We haven’t seen any official announcement yet, but staff members at the current Leesburg Walmart on Edwards Ferry Road have started telling customers that May 22 is the opening date for the new store. The store will be vacating the Edwards Ferry Road location.

Most area residents have seen the mammoth new Walmart store that has gone up in Compass Creek just off 267. The center even has its own exit off the tollway.

Walmart will be joined by the ION International Training Center and an At Home home decor superstore. There will also be a gas station and other retail.

Gee – folks that shop at Walmart can hardly afford to use the Greenway!

Wonder if the toll road is the only way in and out?

Cannot for the life of me find a map from Leesburg, how to get there. You’ve posted everything but that. Just off 267, could be anywherre.

Compass Creek is the large piece of land between 267 and the Leesburg airport runway. There is a westbound exit from 267 and an entrance from Battlefield Parkway.
