New Bruster’s Ice Cream in Ashburn Getting Underway

The new shop is going into the Broadlands Village Center plaza.

Here’s a sweet update many of you have been waiting for… construction on the new Ashburn location  of Bruster’s Real Ice Cream is getting underway.

The Burn first broke the news back in May about Bruster’s setting up shop in the Broadlands Village Center. (See our story here.) The ice creamery is taking over the former Starbucks space on the corner. (Starbucks moved into its own freestanding building in the center.)

We are told work crews are starting to renovate the space. The owners (who are local to Loudoun) have a target of opening by this December — fingers crossed — but keep in mind opening a new business involves lots of moving parts and that date could shift.

Bruster’s Real Ice Cream is a Pennsylvania-based company with roughly 200 locations in 20 states and even some overseas. The brand has more than a hundred flavors in its recipe book — many of them seasonal — and the ice cream is made in the store each day. They say the ice cream is so fresh is goes from “cow to cone” in six days.

Get your tastebuds ready for flavors like Banana Cream Pie, Butter Fudge Almond, White Raspberry Truffle and more.

I was just wondering what is going on with Bruster’s, so I’m very happy to see this update. I plan to be a regular customer for sure, I love Bruster’s!

I just wonder if this one will make it. I can’t tell you how many empty/ shuttered Brusters I drive by in Pennsylvania. I love their ice cream- better than anything here in VA. Guess we’ll see. The butter brickle is to die for.
