East Wind China Bistro closes, new Thai restaurant coming

The new restaurant should open later in October.

A popular Chinese carry-out restaurant in Ashburn has closed — and a new restaurant is getting ready to take its place. We’re talking about East Wind China Bistro in the Goose Creek Village shopping center at Belmont Ridge Road and Sycolin Road.

Word started spreading over the weekend that East Wind had closed after about seven years in the center — and sure enough, a sign in the door says that a new restaurant called Thai Bistro will be coming soon.

The Burn spoke to one of the workers in the shuttered space and he says Thai Bistro should open in about two weeks with a new menu featuring popular Thai dishes.

Sorry to see East Wind go, but The Burn does love its Thai Drunken Noodles, so fingers crossed the new place is good.

Maybe they just have too many restaurants in Loudoun County and there needs to be more restrictions they come in they go out maybe they want to leave a tree and not have so many buildings be vacant around town to I don’t know who’s on the board but they need to start looking at it it’s crazy you move here and then they knock everything down and put a building everywhere paved paradise and put up a parking lot

Let the people regulate with their pocket books. It is way more efficient than the government can ever do.

Agree, and not many good Restaurants. That shopping center has horrible luck. Almost every shop in that center has had a new tenant or 2 or 3 within a year or two of opening.

We stopped going to East Wind after the waitress who had a terrible cold sneezed over our food. YUCK! We love Thai food so I am sure we will give the new place a try.

I agree with Dana Carvey!! The government can stay out of my pocket, leaving us, the consumers, with the power to decide what businesses thrive and which do not.

And Chris, THANK YOU for your article on the cloud in Ashburn magazine!! Many non-technical people do not understand the huge magnitude of traffic that our incredible city produces and Ashburn’s grand value in the internet age! Additionally, you made somewhat difficult concepts very easy, I think, to understand. Now when people ask me what I do for a living, I can point to your article!

Also, for those that do not know… anyone in the world who works in the cloud, knows about Ashburn 🙂
