Hot Pot Legend signs deal at One Loudoun

Hot pot is a style of cooking that originated in China.

Big news on the local restaurant scene tonight — Ashburn is getting its very own “hot pot” restaurant. It’s called Hot Pot Legend and it’s coming to One Loudoun.

If you’re not familiar with hot pot, it’s an Asian style of cooking from China.

Here is how the venerable Wikipedia describes it: Hot pot is “a simmering pot of soup stock at the dining table, containing a variety of East Asian foodstuffs and ingredients. While the hot pot is kept simmering, ingredients are placed into the pot and are cooked at the table, in a manner similar to fondue. Typical hot pot dishes include thinly sliced meat, leaf vegetables, mushrooms, wontons, egg dumplings, tofu, and seafood. The cooked food is usually eaten with a dipping sauce.”

Think fondue and The Melting Pot, only different.

The new Hot Pot Legend will be taking over the space at One Loudoun where Aggio used to be. That’s basically on the backside of Trader Joe’s and across the street from Copperwood Tavern.

The Hot Pot Legend location in Rockville.

Hot Pot Legend is a brand from China, where there are 80 or so locations. There is currently one Hot Pot Legend in the United States. It’s located in Rockville Md. and according to online sources, it opened in 2018. The Burn spoke with a manager there who confirmed a second location is in the works for Ashburn, with hopes of opening early in the new year.
