New signs of progress to report as Ashburn residents eagerly await the arrival of the county’s first Silver Diner restaurant location. As The Burn first reported back in August 2018, the regional restaurant chain is planning a new Silver Diner at the Commonwealth Center next to the new CVS store, across Loudoun County Parkway from One Loudoun.

In recent weeks, passers by have seen site work going on, as the landlord preps the site before construction crews come in and start to build. We’re told that the site work should wrap up this coming week and the land will be turned over to the tenant. Construction on the Silver Diner should start in the spring.
At the same time, paperwork filed with the state shows that the Silver Diner — which has an address on Russell Branch Parkway — has applied for its VABC license, which will allow it to sell alcoholic beverages, specifically beer and wine.
The Burn reached out to the corporate spokespeople about a target opening, but no response yet. Later in 2020 seems likely barring something unexpected.

Yuck! Silver Dinner near One Loudoun? What’s next, Waffle House and Denny’s?
Silver Diner is actually good! Not on the same caliber as Denny’s or Waffle House
How many restaurants can that little blob contain?
