Hot Pot Legend banner up at One Loudoun

The new Asian hot pot restaurant is taking over the former Aggio spot.

While the local restaurant scene continues to reel under the weight of the coronavirus pandemic, there are still positive signs of life in the future. One of those is the “Coming Soon” banner and building permit now on display for the new Hot Pot Legend restaurant at One Loudoun.

With the closure of many non-essential businesses, there’s not much construction work going on in the former Aggio space, but at least we know things are still in motion.

The Burn first broke the news last October that the China-based Hot Pot Legend brand was opening a second U.S. location in Ashburn. (See our original story here.) The first U.S. Hot Pot Legend location opened in Rockville, Md. in 2018. The popular concept features a hot broth at the table that customers cook various Asian meats and vegetables in. It’s similar in concept to a fondue, but distinctly different.

With the timeline and future of the virus situation unclear, there is no way to predict when the new Hot Pot Legend will open. It was originally slated for Spring 2020, but that will certainly not happen now.
