There are many sad business stories coming out of the pandemic, and one of them is certainly the fate of Jimmy Potters Studio & Workshop at the Broadlands Village Center. The art studio had just opened for business when the pandemic hit, and now comes confirmation it is closed permanently.
Jimmy Potters opened at the center at Broadlands Boulevard and Claiborne Parkway in January 2020. The much-heralded new studio was a second location for the successful Fairfax brand that offered pottery and art workshops for adults and children.
Unfortunately, the pandemic shutdowns started just two months later. Jimmy Potters closed and never reopened. Now, The Burn has confirmed the store is not returning and the space is for lease.
Jimmy Potters has also closed its Fairfax location and pivoted to a virtual pottery class model, offering parties, camps and classes via Zoom. They also work with homeschooling families offering art projects.
No word yet on what new tenant might take the 1,300 s.f. for studio space. It’s just two doors down from a new restaurant that was recently announced for the center.
EATaliano is coming in 2022 to the Broadlands Village Center, reportedly offering pizza and Italian cuisine. See our story about the new restaurant here.
