There’s been a lot of speculation about what might happen to a vacant Harris Teeter store off Loudoun County Parkway. Well, now we have one possible future vision after news that the empty supermarket and its large parking lot have been sold to new owners.
According to the Washington Business Journal, the empty store at The Shops at Moorefield Village development has new owners. That’s the retail area near the intersection of LoCo Parkway and Mooreview Parkway.
The Harris Teeter at that location closed in 2020. It has sat empty ever since. There were rumors of possible new tenants, but nothing ever came to fruition.
Now, according to the WBJ, the new owners could be considering a high-density residential and commercial development on the site. This may or may not mean tearing down the Harris Teeter building.
Details and specifics of the new owners’ plans are not available yet. You can read the full WBJ report here.
