A high-tech indoor miniature golf course has signed a lease to open its latest location at the ever-expanding Reston Station project. It’s called Puttshack and it’s been described as Topgolf, only with miniature golf.
In a press release, Puttshack is described as “the world’s only upscale, tech-infused mini golf experience with global food and drink.” The first Puttshack opened in 2018, and there are now four in London, one in Chicago, one in Atlanta, with two more about to open — one in Boston and one in Miami.
The 29,000 s.f. Puttshack at Reston Station will feature “Trackaball” technology which automatically keeps score for you. There’s also a full line-up of food and cocktails.
The golf-themed entertainment venue will be one of the anchors of the second phase of development at Reston Station.
That’s across the street — Reston Station Boulevard — and to the north from Phase 1, where Founding Farmers, Matchbox and other restaurants are located. This phase is also scheduled to be the future home of a JW Marriott hotel.
The construction on Phase 2 has been underway for some time now. Puttshack says it is anticipating a 2025 opening.
