Another new restaurant brand is coming to area — and like Rusty Taco before it — it’s going to be inside Dulles International. The new place is a fast-casual sandwich shop called Extreme Pita.
Extreme Pita will be located inside Terminal A, so it will only be available to ticketed passengers and airport employees.
The brand was founded in Canada in 1997 and today has roughly 175 locations across Canada and the United States.
The menu at Extreme Pita includes pita wrap sandwiches, bowls, salads and flatbread pitas topped like a pizza. You can see the full menu here.
It was just a few weeks back that we reported on the Rusty Taco chain entering Northern Virginia as well with a first location in Terminal D at Dulles. You can see that story here.
It’s not unusual for some restaurant franchisees to focus specifically on opening airport locations because of the unique governmental regulations involved. So the arrival of Extreme Pita and Rusty Taco at IAD doesn’t necessarily mean they will start opening locations around NoVa.
The Extreme Pita project is still in the early stages – construction hasn’t even started yet. It’s safe to assume the company is aiming to open sometime in the new year.
