When is a Ferris wheel not a wheel? When it’s only half built, of course. We snapped this photo yesterday at One Loudoun where crews were busy setting up the annual carnival that opened there Wednesday.
Workers were assembling the giant wheel — and the rest of the carnival — on the undeveloped land adjacent to the center’s shops and restaurants.
Meanwhile a truck sat nearby loaded up with all the pods, or seats, that the Ferris wheel passengers ride in, just waiting to be attached to the wheel.
According to the center’s management, the One Loudoun Carnival runs from now until to June 25 and then returns from August 9 to August 20.
The carnival — which includes many rides and also a midway filled with games — is open Monday to Friday from 5-11 p.m., Saturdays from 1-11 p.m. and Sundays from 3-11 p.m.
