It’s been a long time coming, but we finally have an opening date for Spitz Mediterranean Street Food in Leesburg. The big day will be Friday, February 9.
The new restaurant at the Village at Leesburg made the announcement today via social media.
The Burn first reported on Spitz signing a lease for the VAL way back in July 2022. Work on the nearly 1,800 s.f. space seemed to go in fits and starts, but really got rolling recently.
The colorful menu at Spitz is made up of all types of wraps, sandwiches, and bowls stuffed with ingredients and flavors such as garbanzo beans, feta, olives, corn, pita strips, lavash chips, sumac, and more.
“Spitz is named after the classic vertical method for broiling proteins that ensures a flavorful rich taste, and we can’t wait to introduce ourselves to the community,” the company’s website reads. “Spitz, unusual name, extraordinary taste!”
They also have a healthy vegan menu. You can check out the full line-up of dishes at Spitz here.
Spitz has locations open or in the works in nine states. When the new restaurant opens in Leesburg on February 9, it will not only be the first Spitz in Virginia, but — according to the website — the first one on the entire east coast.
