Work should start soon on IHOP in Purcellville

We understand its the news many folks in Purcellville have been waiting for. It looks like construction should be starting soon on the long-awaited IHOP restaurant there.

The building plans were just finished up in January and the first building permit filings are underway with the county. The restaurant — which will be about 3,400 s.f. — should seat roughly 170 guests. That includes 32 seats on a planned outside patio area.

The Burn first reported that IHOP was scheduled to come to the Catoctin Corner retail development back in May 2022.

Catoctin Corner is the center at the roundabout at Colonial Highway and the Berlin Turnpike. It’s also home to the Chipotle, the Dunkin’ Donuts, and a 7-Eleven, among other businesses.

IHOP is going into one of three units in a new building built just to the north of the 7-Eleven.

There’s still no official timeline when IHOP will open. Right now, the owners are choosing the construction firm that will “build out” the space. All the needed permits have to be issued, subcontractors have to be found, and then the actual work has to happen.

From there, the construction team will turn the finished space over to the owners, who will hire managers and staff, bring in all the supplies, and hold training. Only then will they be ready to open.
