It’s going to be an exciting weekend of watching your home and garden dreams come true at this year’s Capital Remodel + Garden Show, which happens February 23-25 at the Dulles Expo Center. And readers of The Burn can get a special discount on tickets.
Fans of home remodeling will have the chance to hear from Kevin O’Connor — famous for his two decades as host of the beloved PBS show, “This Old House.”
In addition to posing for photos and signing autographs Kevin will take the stage on Saturday giving his audience a behind-the-scenes look at the making of This Old House in its 45th season. He told us that that Season 45 starts with a total renovation for a family of five.
“The middle child has Duchenne muscular dystrophy and is bound for a wheelchair,” he explained. “The purpose of our renovation was to make the house more accessible so he can participate fully in all the house has to offer. Many of the details and products also are applicable to anyone who has a physical impairment and/or anyone future-proofing their house so they can age in place.”
At the Capital Remodel + Garden Show, more than 200 companies will be on hand to showcase the latest products and services in home remodeling, renovation, home décor, landscape and garden design.
Local and regional landscape companies will have feature gardens throughout the show. An ongoing schedule of home remodeling and landscape experts conducting seminars will be carried out during the three-day event.
“We will completely fill the Dulles Expo Center with remodeling and garden experts,” said Lisa Gardon, show director. “If someone is thinking about a project then this will be the place to be, with more than 200 exhibitors there to answer questions, offer counsel and showcase the latest trends.”
The Capital Remodel + Garden Show will run from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. Friday, February 23 and Saturday, February 24 and from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m., Sunday, February 25. You can get show tickets here and make sure you use the code THEBURN to get a special discount for our readers.
