Burning Question: What’s happening with the Chipotle that was supposed to go in at Dulles Landing near the Walmart? — Brenda N.
You are not alone in wondering, Brenda. This has been one of the most frequent questions here at Burn HQ of late. And we finally have an update for you.
Last night, Dulles District Supervisor Matt Letourneau held a community meeting to discuss the retail and restaurant outlook in the greater South Riding area in southern Loudoun County.
Lots of good information was shared — much of it covered previously here on The Burn — but one update stood out — the latest on the Chipotle coming to Dulles Landing.
According to representatives for the Beatty Management Company which operates Dulles Landing, the construction permit applications are in for the new Chipotle and they are hoping to have those in hand by the end of March.
From there, work on the site next to the Walmart could start as soon as April with an anticipated six to eight month build time. They are hoping to open the Chipotle by the end of the year.
It will be happy news for many residents in the area. The Burn first reported that Chipotle was exploring a location at Dulles Landing way back in March 2022 — nearly two years ago. But as they say — good things come to those who wait — and Chipotle is definitely coming — and sooner rather than later.
If you’ve got a Burning Question for The Burn about something you’ve spotted in the area related to roads, restaurants, retail or other things we cover, send it to and we’ll see if we can get you an answer.
