Things are starting to move on plans to bring the restaurant brand CHIKO to Loudoun County. The DC-based company specializes in dishes highlighting Chinese and Korean flavors and ingredients.
Last October, The Burn first told readers about plans for CHIKO to open in Sterling’s Cascades Marketplace shopping center.
Now, the CHIKO team is getting its construction crew lined up that will “build out” the vacant space in the center. The spot was previously a Noodles & Company restaurant.
We’ve learned that the space — as currently envisioned — will have table seating for roughly 44 guests inside as well as 11 seats at the restaurant’s bar.
Meanwhile, outside there are plans for a patio with seating for an additional 24 guests.
The menu at CHIKO varies from location to location, but features dishes such as Pork and Kimchi Potstickers, Cumin Lamb Stir Fry, and a House Fried Rice. They also offer a Dumping Happy Hour at some locations.
The Sterling spot will likely be the brand’s second location in Northern Virginia. According to the CHIKO website, the only one currently is in Shirlington. They also have two locations in DC, one in Maryland, and one in California.
New management at Cascades Marketplace has signed a string of hot new restaurants recently. Besides CHIKO, the line-up includes the already open Local Provisions, as well as both a drive-thru Shake Shack and a Taco Bamba coming in the future.
