It looks like Loudoun County is getting another Mezeh Mediterranean Grill. The county’s first one just opened last month in Leesburg, and now comes word that a second location is in the works.
And if you guessed it coming to the white-hot Cascades Marketplace center, you’d be correct. Mezeh is scheduled to come in and take the 1,900 s.f. space currently occupied by Starbucks.
Don’t worry, java junkies, as we’ve reported previously, Starbucks is planning a move to another building in the center where it can have a drive-thru lane.
Mezeh is a regional brand based in Fairfax with more than 50 locations open or in the works up and down the easternboard. Northern Virginia is thick with them and Loudoun’s first store opened at the Shops at Compass Creek in March.
The menu at Mezeh focuses on bowls filled with rice or lettuce, then topped with a protein and a variety of veggies. If you are unfamiliar with the brand, you can check out the exceedingly simple Mezeh menu at the bottom of this story.
As for our calling Cascades Marketplace “white-hot,” it’s because the once declining center has seen a turnaround under new management. In recent months, they have signed deals with some of the hottest restaurant concepts in the region.
Besides, Mezeh, the shopping center is also getting a Taco Bamba Mexican restaurant, a drive-thru Shake Shack burger and milkshake joint, and a CHIKO — a sit-down Asian restaurtant focusing on Chinese and Korean food. Thus the name CHIKO. (We’re embarrassed to admit how long it took us to figure that name out.)
It’s an abundance of riches at Cascades Marketplace and they still have a fair number of vacant spaces available for future tenants as one of Loudoun’s oldest retail centers finds new life.
