A Mexican restaurant on Ashburn’s north side has closed up shop — less than two years after it first opened. Altos de Jalisco in the Ashbrook Commons shopping center is gone — at least for now.
Altos opened in the shopping center at Route 7 and Ashburn Village Boulevard in September 2022. The brand also has an original location in Winchester.
On Sunday afternoon, moving trucks were parked in front as a large team of people wheeled furniture and equipment out. Meanwhile, a worker on a lift was removing the signage over the rear door.
On the Altos de Jalisco website, there was a notice that the Ashburn location was closed due to “circumstances beyond our control.” It also said gift cards could be redeemed in Winchester.
We spoke with a manager who didn’t go into detail, but said this spot hadn’t worked out. He did say that they still hoped to keep a presence in the area and would be exploring other possible locations in Ashburn and Loudoun County.
