Burning Question: Any idea what they’re building at the intersection of Battlefield Parkway SE and Miller Drive SE? They’ve started something at the corner right next to Sonic and Exxon. — Dwaine P.
They have indeed started something, Dwaine, and super hardcore readers of The Burn may even know the answer. It’s going to be a new Flagship Carwash location.
We first reported that Flagship had acquired the spot back in January 2022, buried in a story about Flagship taking over the Leesburg Station Auto Wash on Catoctin Circle SE.
Over the past few months, Flagship has been locking in the construction crews that will build the car wash.
Right now, the property is surrounded with a chain link fence, a construction trailer is on the site, there are some cement sewer pipes piled there, and a little dirt has been turned. No word on when the new car wash will open.
As most area residents know, the Flagship brand has expanded heavily into Loudoun County and around Northern Virginia in the past few years.
This includes what has been billed as the largest indoor car wash in the country — Flagship’s “flagship” location — near the intersection of Loudoun County Parkway and Route 7 across from One Loudoun in Ashburn.
