We’ll let you in on a little secret — Duck Donuts in Ashburn is open today — Friday, June 14. Yes, the new donut shop’s grand opening isn’t scheduled until tomorrow — Saturday, June 15 — but you know those ducks — they’re tricky.
A full staff of smiling young people was on hand when The Burn stopped by Friday morning — but there weren’t any customers at the moment. They said they would be open until 7 p.m.
The visit gave us our first official look at the roughly 1,200 s.f. space in the Broadlands Village Center. Done up in the brand’s colors of white and pink and blue, the narrow space is focused on carryout and delivery — lacking a proper dining room.
As we reported earlier this week, the grand opening on Saturday is scheduled for 7 a.m. The first person in line will receive a dozen donuts free each month for a year. And the first 50 people will get a certificate for a free dozen donuts plus coffee.
This is the second Loudoun County location for the North Carolina-based company. The first Loudoun Duck Donuts location opened last year in South Riding.
