BGR, a burger restaurant over in the greater Reston Town Center project, has closed its doors after more than five years in business.
The news was first reported by the folks at FFXNow.com. BGR was located in the RTC West development off Sunset Hills Road. That’s the same center with the Cooper’s Hawk restaurant as well as Tiki Thai, Mezeh Mediterranean Grill and several other eateries.
BGR stands for Burgers Grilled Right and the Reston location was part of a small chain that has locations in five states, according to the brand’s website.
At one time, there was a BGR in Loudoun County. It was in the Cascades Marketplace shopping center. The former BGR space there is now occupied by The Pit Stop, a barbecue restaurant.
There are still two BGR locations in Northern Virginia — one in Arlington and one in Springfield.
The closure of BGR at RTC West leaves several vacant spaces in the center, but on the bright side — the new Kook Dogg Cafe is expected to open there sometime in the next few months.
