It’s official! New Target store headed to Loudoun County

A new Target department store is officially in the works for Loudoun County — confirming a report first published here on The Burn last summer.

Today, Loudoun County Supervisor Matt Letourneau said that Target will be the first anchor store at the upcoming Shops at Arcola retail center.

That center will be built near Loudoun County Parkway and Dulles West Boulevard, just north of the South Riding community.

According to Letourneau, construction on the 150,000 square store is expected to start immediately.

The Burn first got wind of possible plans for a Target at the center last August, but nothing was official then and no one would confirm the news. Then this past June, we got confirmation based on documents filed with the county. Now, county officials are ready to talk about the big news.

“I’d like to thank Target for their investment in our community,” the supervisor wrote on social media. “I am optimistic that Target will be the first of several high quality retail and dining brands joining the Shops at Arcola.”

The Burn will keep you posted on all the developments with Loudoun’s latest Target store.
