Ashburn soccer player Emily Fox has won a gold medal at the 2024 Olympics in Paris. She did it alongside her teammates on the U.S. women’s soccer team.
The American team defeated Brazil 1-0 on Saturday. The victory put them atop the Olympic podium for the first time in a dozen years.
Key to the success was Fox who played in every match during the tournament.
Fox grew up in Ashburn and was a star on the Stone Bridge High School team. She went on to play collegiate soccer before going pro. She currently plays for Arsenal in Great Britain.
Congratulations to Emily and her teammates for their amazing gold medal success. Ashburn and Loudoun County are proud of you.
