Exciting news for folks who love to brunch — a popular southern restaurant chain famous for its breakfast, brunch, and lunch menus is entering the Northern Virginia market.
And The Burn has confirmed that the first location should be coming to Loudoun County.
It’s called Another Broken Egg Cafe and the local franchisee — D2 Ventures — is actively negotiating for a spot in Loudoun. The precise location is still top secret.
If you’re not familiar, Another Broken Egg Cafe was founded in Louisiana in 1996. It proved to be so popular that the company quickly started to grow.
Today, there are more than 70 locations in 14 states. There are two in Virginia — one in Williamsburg and one in Virginia Beach. There is also one that’s not too far away in Elkridge, Maryland.
“Another Broken Egg Cafe isn’t your typical breakfast, brunch, or lunch restaurant,” the brand’s website reads. “Our passion is delivering uncompromising, southern-inspired culinary innovation and ‘craveably’ delicious dishes.”

The menu at Another Broken Egg includes such fan favorites as Chicken & Waffles, Crab Cake Benedict, Shrimp and Grits, and a Mardi Gras Omelette.
They also have an extensive brunch cocktail menu with a variety of Bloody Marys, champagne cocktails, “spiked” coffees, and more. You can check out the full Another Broken Egg Cafe menu here.
As a breakfast- and brunch-centric brand, most Another Broken Egg Cafe locations are only open for morning and early afternoon hours — traditionally 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.
A representative for D2 Ventures told us that they are planning on opening three locations of the restaurant to start out with, and possibly more.
They will also be working with other potential franchisees in Northern Virginia to help them open Another Broken Egg Cafes as well.
Right now, they are hoping to have the first Loudoun location open by mid-2025 if things go smoothly.
As local diners surely know — restaurants that specialize in breakfast and lunch and then close by mid-afternoon are a hot segment in the hospitality industry.
Locally, we already have two First Watch restaurants open — in Leesburg and South Riding — and a third on the way in Sterling.
As The Burn first reported back in February, First Watch is taking over the former Outback Steakhouse location at the Potomac Run shopping center off Route 7.
Meanwhile, there’s been a popular Famous Toastery location — which also focuses on breakfast and brunch — at the Loudoun Station development in Ashburn since 2016.
