People interested in documentary films might want to check out a special event happening next Tuesday, September 24, at the Alamo Drafthouse in Ashburn.
That’s when Northern Virginia-based producer Pete Davis will hold the Loudoun premiere of his new film, “Join or Die” — a feature documentary on community in America and the loneliness crisis.
“Follow the half-century story of America’s civic unraveling through the journey of legendary Harvard social scientist Robert Putnam, whose groundbreaking “Bowling Alone” research into America’s decades-long decline in community connections could hold the answers to our democracy’s present crisis,” a press release read.
The showtime is 7:15 on Tuesday — and afterwards Davis will be hosting a Q&A and discussion.
The documentary debuted at the South by Southwest Festival last March. You can see the trailer below and — if interested — get tickets to the Alamo Drafthouse showing here.
