There’s been a lot of buzz in Loudoun County in recent months regarding the fate of Studio Bleu — a longtime dance studio in the Old Ashburn community along Ashburn Road.
The scuttlebutt of financial issues and teachers leaving came at the same time that the studio was featured prominently in a new season of the reality series “Dance Moms” on the Hulu streaming network.
While we haven’t seen an official announcement of the fate of Studio Bleu yet — the studio has definitely closed its space in the Ashburn Square retail center.
The Studio Bleu signs have come down and now The Burn has learned that a new dance studio is coming in to take its place.
It’s called Project X Dance Company. We understand that Gloria “Glo” Hampton, a former Studio Bleu teacher is one of the key people in the new business.
Glo Hampton was the teacher who was featured in “Dance Moms” — but she was not an owner of the previous studio.
We’ve heard that Project X will be moving into the two former Studio Bleu spaces on Ashburn Road — but no opening date has been announced yet.
There’s also no word if Hampton and Project X will be featured in any future seasons of “Dance Moms.”
