Well, that didn’t take long. It was just on Monday that we broke the news that a Bartaco, a Tatte Bakery & Cafe, and a Van Leeuwen Ice Cream shop are all coming to a new, yet-to-be-built phase of One Loudoun.
A formal groundbreaking ceremony for the new phase is scheduled for October 22, but that didn’t stop the first work crews from showing up on Wednesday and breaking ground early.
A large backhoe and a small bulldozer were onsite, moving dirt around, scooping it up and loading it into trucks that hauled the earth away.
The area that will become the next phase of retail shops, restaurants, offices, and a hotel had already been fenced off last week.
