The second Painted Tree Boutiques store in Loudoun County is getting ready to open. If all stays on track, they should be ready to start welcoming shoppers later this month.
The new store is coming to the Sugarland Crossing retail center off Route 7 in Sterling. That’s the center with the Lidl grocery store and the Burlington (Coat Factory) store.
Painted Tree is set up like an antiques mall — only without the antiques. Dozens of small businesses like local artisans and craftspeople lease booths or kiosks inside the story to sell their wares.
We’re talking things like jewelry, clothing, home decor, and more.
The first local Painted Tree Boutiques opened earlier this year in the South Riding area at the Dulles Landing shopping center. That’s near the intersection of Loudoun County Parkway and Highway 50.
Both the South Riding store and the new Sterling store are quite large. They’ve taken over spaces that were previously occupied by so-called “big box” stores.
A customer service rep said the vendor move in at the Sterling store should take place around the middle of October and then doors would open to customers a week or so later. Fingers crossed that timeline stays on track.
The two Loudoun locations are the only outlets for Painted Tree Boutiques in Northern Virginia, although they have stores elsewhere in the state and more than 50 open or in the works across the country.
