It’s been years in the making, but the new Reservoir Park on the shores of the Beaverdam Reservoir is finally ready for primetime. The opening is scheduled for 12 noon on Monday, October 21.
The announcement was made by Loudoun Water and NOVA Parks — the two entities behind the new recreational facility.
Loudoun Water owns and maintains the 300-acre reservoir as a source of drinking water for Loudoun residents while NOVA Parks operates 37 regional parks across Northern Virginia.
“The innovative park design includes a welcome center, crew facility, boat rental facility, several picnic pavilions, trails, waterfront boardwalks, a bridge, site utilities, a restroom building, educational exhibits, and various other site features,” the announcement read.
The park is located on the southeast side of the reservoir. The exact address is 22211 Water Vista Drive in Ashburn. That’s behind the baseball fields at Belmont Ridge Road and Northstar Boulevard.

Boat rentals will be available October 26-27, and visitors may launch their own non-gas boats through the end of the season.
The Beaverdam Reservoir is currently accessible for fishing and boating via its original access point at Mount Hope Road.
