TGI Fridays closes its doors for good in Leesburg

We knew the day was coming, but’s it’s still a little bittersweet to report that the TGI Fridays restaurant in Leesburg has closed permanently.

The news came via a sign posted to the front door today.

“We regret to inform you that Fridays has made the difficult decision to close our doors at Leesburg effective October 8, 2024,” the note reads in part. “We are extremely grateful to our loyal guests and our team members at our Leesburg restaurant.”

The restaurant is located at 235 Fort Evans Road NE — that’s in the greater parking lot of the Leesburg Premium Outlets.

It was back in June that The Burn broke the news that plan had been filed with the county to tear down the Fridays building and put up a new Chili’s Grill & Bar restaurant.

Those plans are still in the permitting system but it’s not clear if that project is moving forward or not.

The roughly 4,500 s.f. Fridays in Leesburg was originally built in 1999.
