Dulles Town Center mall signs another major new tenant

We are beginning to sound like a broken record — but another major new tenant has signed on to take a large space at the Dulles Town Center shopping mall.

Always in Motion will be a ninja and parkour gym — offering kids and adults a space where they can train and compete in these unique disciplines.

It will be going into the former Sheffield Furniture store space (which is currently occupied by a temporary Spirit Halloween store).

If you’re not familiar, American Ninja Warrior training has been all the rage for several years now with ninja studios opening around the country and TV shows dedicated to the sport. Competitors speed through a series of challenging obstacles — swinging, jumping, and climbing in a race against time.

Parkour originated in France and is defined as “the sport of moving rapidly through an area — typically an urban environment while negotiating obstacles by running, jumping, and climbing.”

Always in Motion will take a 20,000 s.f. space at the Dulles Town Center and will “provide a wide range of obstacles and classes designed to challenge all skill levels,” according to a description of the gym. “With a dedicated team of experienced coaches and staff, Always in Motion aims to become a hub for fitness and fun.”

Besides regular classes and training, the gym will also host birthday parties, private events, team-building events and even sanctioned competitions for some of the major ninja and parkour competitive organizations.

No word yet on when Always in Motion will open, so stay tuned.

This is just the latest in a string of major new tenants to sign on with the mall. After years of tenants leaving the shopping center, things have made a distinct turnaround in the past year or so.

Other new tenants open or coming soon include Sky Zone Trampoline Park, and 810 Billiards & Bowling as well as restaurants such as Aria, AllGoRhythms, and Jamun.

Meanwhile, a new virtual reality venue is negotiating for a space at the mall and a large famers market and makers market is scheduled to start weekly events at the mall in March.
