Trader Joe’s sign goes up at new Leesburg store

A major milestone in the work to bring a new Trader Joe’s grocery store to Leesburg. The sign has gone up on the facade of the building letting everyone know things are getting close.

The new store is going into a nearly 15,000 s.f. space in the Fort Evans Plaza II retail center. That’s near the intersection of Battlefield Parkway NE and Fort Evans Road NE.

The Burn was the first media outlet to break the news about Trader Joe’s coming to Leesburg back in February. They’ve made quick progress since then.

This is the second Trader Joe’s location in Loudoun County, after one opened at One Loudoun in Ashburn back in 2018.

The latest word we have from the folks at TJ’s HQ is that an opening date hasn’t been set yet — but the store’s “captain” has been onsite and is getting things ready.

At the pace they are moving, we expect a opening date to be announced any time now.
