The team at Trader Joe’s has made fast work of getting their latest store open in Loudoun County. Today, team members at the new location in Leesburg told us they have an opening date.
According to them — the date has been set for next week — Tuesday, October 22.
We still haven’t gotten that officially from the folks at Trader Joe’s headquarters in California, but that’s what staffers are telling people in Leesburg.
The new store is located next door to the HomeGoods stores in the Fort Evans Plaza II retail center. That’s near the intersection of Fort Evans Road NE and Battlefield Parkway NE.
It’s been a surprisingly fast path to this point. The Burn first shocked many local Leesburg leaders when we broke the news about Trader Joe’s coming back in February.
Now, fast forward just eight months and they are just about ready to go. A peek in the window shows shelves up and many of them already stocked.
Meanwhile, outside a crew was finishing up installing a bright red awning on the front facade.
With Trader Joe’s scheduled to open next Tuesday and then the Sprouts Farmers Market in Leesburg opening on Friday (see our report here), it’s an exciting week for grocery shoppers in the community.
