Earlier this week, The Burn reported that staff members at the new Trader Joe’s in Leesburg had revealed that the opening date would be next Tuesday, October 22.
Now, Trader Joe’s headquarters has officially confirmed the news.
On Tuesday, October 22, Trader Joe’s will open a new Leesburg, Virginia store. The new store is located at 504 Fort Evans Road in the Fort Evans Plaza II,” the announcement starts. “This 11,268 s.f. store is the second Trader Joe’s in Loudoun County. Moments before doors open at 9 a.m., there will be a brief ribbon cutting. Store Captain Chris Moring and Trader Joe’s Crew Members will be on hand to welcome customers to their new neighborhood store.”
The Burn first broke the news back in February that TJ’s was coming to Leesburg. It has gone in next door to the HomeGood store.
The official announcement goes on to say that the store has hired 45 new crew members from the area as well as transferring in some crew from other Trader Joe’s locations in the region.
“In addition, through the company’s longstanding Neighborhood Shares Program, the new Leesburg Trader Joe’s will donate 100% of products that go unsold but remain fit to enjoy to a range of non-profit, community-based organizations, seven days a week,” the press release concludes.
