Loudoun restaurateur returns for second GRIND art show

A one-night-only pop-up art show is returning to Loudoun County in November for its second year — featuring dynamic works by several area artists.

The show is called GRIND, and it’s the brainchild of local entrepreneur and artist Kevin Bednarz. Local foodies may know Bednarz best as the proprietor of The Ashburn Pub, The Purcellville Pub as well as the Purcellville EATS restaurant.

GRIND — which attracted more than 300 guests last year — will present new works by Bednarz, including “original black-and-white pieces on actual sheet music, presented in a mixed-media format,” according to a press release about the event.

“Art has always been a passion of mine, and seeing the support from the community last year was incredibly humbling,” Bednarz said. “This year, I’m pushing my creative boundaries by working with black and white on sheet music. It’s a medium that allows me to blend my love for music and art, and I can’t wait to share it with everyone.”

Bednarz will be joined by joined by local artists Andrew Katz, Tiphanie Forst, and Eric Thompson, who will also contribute original pieces to the show.

GRIND is taking place on Saturday, November 9 at 506-B Fort Evans Road NE. That’s in a retail space in the Fort Evans Plaza II near the new Trader Joe’s grocery store.

There will be a VIP reception from 4 to 5 p.m., followed by the doors being open to the public from 5 to 9 p.m. Admission is free.

There will be music, food, and cocktails at the event and a portion of the proceeds from the night will benefit the Loudoun First Responders Foundation.
