Desi District planning first Virginia location in Loudoun

A fast-casual Indian restaurant brand called Desi District Market & Eatery is expanding from its roots in Texas and planning its first Virginia location in the South Riding area of Loudoun County.

The exact location hasn’t been announced yet, but South Riding is on the brand’s “Coming Soon” list.

“Desi District is a modern and urban Indian street food eatery and your neighborhood market combined in one fabulous place,” the company’s website reads.

Customers can order food at a counter and enjoy it right there in the dining room — much like an Indian version of a Panera or a Chipotle.

The extensive menu includes appetizers, kebabs, curries, biryanis, burgers, momos, desserts, and more. As an example, you can check out the menu from the Desi District location in the Atlanta area here.

Desi District locations also have a market component with shelves and coolers carrying popular staples items in the Indian community including milks, cheeses, juices, and sodas.
