A former Burger King restaurant in Herndon is on track to find new life as a Panda Express restaurant. That’s according to documents filed with the Town of Herndon.
The BK at 598 Elden Street closed suddenly in April 2023. The large, 3,800 s.f. building has been vacant, but now the Panda Express brand has plans to refurbish it and open one of their restaurants there.
Panda Express is the largest Asian-themed chain in the country with more than 2,400 locations.
It specializes in American Chinese cuisine with dishes such as Orange Chicken, Black Pepper Sirloin Steak, Honey Walnut Chicken, and more.
Locally, there are more than 50 Panda Expresses in Virginia and more than a dozen in NoVa. But the closest ones to Herndon are in Leesburg and Fairfax.
The Panda Express news was first reported by the FFX Now website.
