A big junk bin stands outside the front doors of the future First Watch location in Sterling — and workers were seen hauling out wheelbarrows of debris.
Yes, work has gotten underway on the latest location of the restaurant chain known for its breakfast, lunch, and brunch menu. First Watch restaurants are usually only open during the morning and early afternoon hours.
As The Burn first reported back in February, this latest First Watch is going into the former Outback Steakhouse building at the Potomac Run Plaza shopping center off Route 7.
It appears crews are in what it sometimes called the “demo” phase — for demolition. They are gutting the old Outback, taking out anything that’s not needed, including things like ceiling panels, walls, flooring, etc.
Once the building is stripped down, First Watch’s contractors can get in there and start turning it into the restaurant’s latest design.
No word on when the First Watch in Sterling will open yet.
This will be the brand’s third location in Loudoun County. There are already First Watch restaurants in South Riding and Leesburg.
