Loudoun’s first Taco Bamba is under construction

It’s been almost exactly one year since The Burn first broke the news that Taco Bamba was working on a location in Loudoun County — and now, we can confirm that construction is officially underway.

Taco Bamba is one of several new restaurants coming to the Cascades Marketplace shopping center in Sterling.

It’s taking over a spot that — years ago — was a Baja Fresh restaurant. Now, most of the Baja Fresh FF&E (furniture, fixtures and equipment) have been removed as work crews turn the space into a Taco Bamba.

Most but not all. A Baja Fresh sign still lingers on one wall — like a ghost from the past. It will surely be gone soon too.

Construction is underway on the future Taco Bamba space at the Cascades Overlook shopping center.

New walls and drywall are going up and the cement floor has been jackhammered open in some places as plumbing is rerouted for the new restaurant.

It’s still too early to guess when the new Taco Bamba will open, but once work gets underway, things tend to progress quickly.

Besides Taco Bamba, other new restaurants coming to Cascades Marketplace include the French restaurant Brasserie Royale, a Shake Shack, a Mezeh Mediterranean Grill, and a relocated Starbucks with a new drive-thru lane.

We’ve also heard rumors of another possible new restaurant tenant. Stay tuned and we’ll let you know if that deal goes through.
