Loudoun County’s favorite magazine is back with an all-new issue full of interesting stories about local people, places, and businesses. The November issue will start showing up in mailboxes and at local drop spots this weekend.
The cover story in the issue introduces readers to a Brambleton man who was a leading figure in the Civil Rights Movement of the 1960s and a close friend of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
The magazine will also share the story of Ashburn’s first female firefighter and explore the challenges she faced as a trailblazer.
Plus, a tiny burger and frozen custard joint out near the Shenandoah Valley has an outsized fan base here in Northern Virginia. Yep, we’re talking about the much-loved Spelunker’s.
Other stories include two teens who have created an invention to prevent car versus deer accidents, a local couple that took the reins of an Ashburn wine shop when the owner passed away, and a trip back in time to learn how the railroad was built across Loudoun County.
Ashburn Magazine won more than 20 awards — including the top magazine award — at the Virginia Press Association awards earlier this year. It is published bimonthly and is distributed to more than 13,000 Ashburn homes.
You can find copies at dozens of locations around the community. A complete list can be found here.
