A new airline is set to start service from Dulles International Airport. It’s Royal Jordanian Airlines and soon local travelers will have nonstop service between IAD and Queen Alia International Airport in Amman, Jordan.
The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority made the announcement today. They say Royal Jordanian will be the 46th airline to provide service to and from Dulles.
The new flights are set to start on Sunday, March 23 and will operate two times per week — on Tuesdays and Sundays.
Royal Jordanian will fly Boeing 787s to Dulles, configured to carry 270 passengers in business and economy class.
“This route provides an important connection for government, business and tourism between Washington, D.C., and the Middle East, which is an important and growing market for Dulles International,” said Chryssa Westerlund, MWAA’s executive vice president and chief revenue officer, in a press release.
The new service will be Royal Jordanian Airlines’ first nonstop connection between the two capitals of Amman and Washington.
