Sterling’s Running Dish conveyor belt sushi restaurant close to opening

The new restaurant called Running Dish in Sterling is close to opening — perhaps as soon as the next week or two. That’s according to one of the managers we spoke with when we got a sneak peek inside.

As regular readers know, Running Dish is a large new Asian restaurant coming to the Sugarland Crossing shopping center off Route 7.

That’s the same center with the Lidl grocery store, the JoAnn Fabric store, and the Burlington store.

We say large because Running Dish is reportedly more than 10,000 s.f. in size and has seating for more than 200 guests.

As the sign out front indicates, the restaurant will specialize in Korean BBQ, hot pot, and sushi.

The tables in the restaurant have the requisite burners for cooking at the table — as is customary in Korean BBQ and hot pot.

Meanwhile, there is a conveyor belt running alongside all the tables that will carry a circulating selection of sushi past hungry diners who can choose whichever items catch their eye.

The owners are opening two Running Dish locations simultaneously. They also have one underway in the Pittsburgh area.

While they expect it to be very soon, the official opening date in Sterling hasn’t been settled on yet, so stay tuned.
