Someone in the Ashburn area is likely $1 million dollars richer after a winning lottery ticket was purchased at a local grocery store.
According to the Virginia Lottery, a Powerball ticket for the Monday night drawing (November 26) is now worth a cool $1,000,000.
The lucky ticket was bought at the Harris Teeter grocery store in the Ashbrook Commons shopping center. That’s the one near the intersection of Ashburn Village Boulevard and Russell Branch Parkway.
The store will receive a $10,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.
“The million-dollar question now is: Who has that ticket?” reads the announcement from the VA Lottery HQ.
The winning numbers were 5-35-45-60-63, and the Powerball number was 12. The Ashburn ticket matched the first five numbers and only missed the Powerball number.
According to officials, the ticket was the only one in the nation to match the first five numbers. No ticket matched all six numbers to win the estimated $184 million jackpot.
The jackpot for Wednesday’s Powerball drawing will now grow to an estimated $196 million. That would make for a happy Thanksgiving indeed.
The person (or persons) holding the winning ticket has 180 days from the date of the drawing to claim their prize. So start checking those numbers.
