Burning Question: Have you heard anything about the Good Fortune restaurant in Broadlands? We have tried ordering from there several times and have found them closed unexpectedly. — Jackie M.
Hi Jackie. You are right to wonder. We’ve got a bit of a mystery on our hands with with this one. The Chinese restaurant is located at 42864 Truro Parish Drive and originally opened at that location in 2017.
Now, according to the ownership at Good Fortune — they are simply taking a break.
A sign that was posted on the door — but has since disappeared — read: “We would like to inform you that our restaurant will be temporarily closed as we take a short vacation break to recharge.”
However, there are no notes on the restaurant’s website or social media pages and the phone rings to a mailbox that is full.
The Burn tried placing an online order for some wonton — and it went through — a big no-no for a restaurant that is closed. They are supposed to turn off the online ordering system when they aren’t open.
When we went to pick up our order — the place was still locked up 90 minutes after their opening time with no one in sight. Fortunately, we picked the “pay at the store” option, so we weren’t out any cash.
We have sent a message into the folks at Good Fortune for more information on if and when they will reopen, so stay tuned for an update.
