The Meadows Frozen Custard at One Loudoun announces closing date

The moment is drawing nigh — The Meadows Original Frozen Custard shop in Ashburn has announced its closing date — and it’s just three days away.

The management at the store in One Loudoun says this Saturday, December 7, will be its last official day in business. The Meadows is closing after more than 10 years at the center, having originally opened in May 2014.

On social media, the shop did say if they still have supplies left, they may be open for a time on Sunday as well, but no guarantees.

The Burn first reported on the planned closure back in September. At the time, the owner of The Meadows said the competition at the center had taken its toll on his shop’s bottom line.

He referenced the opening of similar frozen treat outlets such as Fantasticks, a gelato bar shop, and The Yard Milkshake Bar.

Since then, One Loudoun has announced a deal to bring a Van Leeuwen ice cream shop to the center in a new expansion project that is currently under construction.
